Effective July 31, 2026

Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Lunem desktop application and website. By signing in or using Lunem, you agree to them.

Lunem assists with learning and computer tasks. It can make mistakes. Review important outputs and confirmations before relying on them.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 and legally able to accept these terms. You are responsible for your Google account and Windows profile. v0.9.1 binds local Lunem data to the first Google account used on that Windows profile; account switching is not supported without a local reset.

Your services and costs

Lunem uses a bring-your-own-key model. You are responsible for obtaining, securing, and paying for Ollama resources or external AI and speech-provider accounts. Provider availability, quotas, prices, and outputs are controlled by those providers, not Lunem.

Acceptable use

You may not use Lunem to violate law, infringe rights, access systems without authorization, distribute malware, evade provider safeguards, harass others, or expose credentials and confidential information. You must review actions that can modify files, enter text, navigate websites, or affect other applications.

Your content and local data

You retain rights to your prompts, memories, lessons, and other content. You grant the external providers you enable the permissions needed to process a request under their terms. Lunem does not claim ownership of local user content. You are responsible for backups and for ensuring you have permission to process content shown on your screen.

Software license

Subject to these terms and the repository's applicable license notices, you may install and use Lunem for lawful personal or organizational purposes. You may not misrepresent official builds, remove required notices, or use Lunem trademarks in a way that suggests endorsement.

Third-party services

Google, Supabase, AssemblyAI, model providers, Ollama models, GitHub, and operating-system services are independent third parties. Their terms and privacy policies apply. Lunem is not responsible for their outages, changes, retained data, or generated results.

Preview software and updates

Lunem may be released as preview software. Features can change, fail, or be removed. Current builds (v0.9.3 and later) install automatic updates in the background; older builds require manually installing newer signed releases. Back up important local data before upgrades or resets.

No professional advice

Lunem does not provide legal, medical, financial, safety-critical, or other professional advice. Do not use it as the sole basis for high-impact decisions.

Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Lunem is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, availability, fitness, or non-infringement. The contributors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of data, provider charges, or actions taken based on generated output.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using Lunem at any time. Access may be suspended when necessary to protect users, systems, legal compliance, or service integrity. Termination does not automatically delete data held by third-party providers or local files on your computer.

Changes and contact

Updated terms will appear here with a new effective date. Continued use after a material change means you accept the revised terms. Questions can be submitted at github.com/Rikinshah787/Lumen/issues.
